JES & Co. Technical Track Internship Program
Program Description
Goals and Objectives
JES & Co. is a Non-Profit 501 (c) (3) Education Organization that provides
technology-related programs benefiting K-16 youth. Positions are occasionally
available for Technical Interns who report to the Director of Operations.
Depending on individual skills and education, Technical Interns may be tasked
with supporting microcomputer hardware and software; planning and implementing
personal computer rollouts, and local and wide area networks; developing and
maintaining computer programs and web-based applications; and assisting with
network administration; under the supervision of JES & Co Program Managers.
JES & Co. partners with Tierra Del Oro Consulting Inc, a Microsoft Solutions
Provider Partner, in order to provide Technical Interns a wide range of
experiences and access to resources and opportunities. Technical Interns gain
experience and knowledge as they work toward completing technical track
certifications. Additional opportunities for advanced and specialty educational
opportunities are often made available to Technical Interns.
Job Responsibilities
Examples of Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting JES
& Co Program Managers with: Planning and implementing installations of
desktop computers, servers, and assorted peripheral devices in a variety of
standalone and network environments, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining
desktop computers, software, and networks, both internally and for end users at
customer sites Administering and configuring servers and network devices, both
internally and for end users at customer sites Mentoring K-16 students who
participate as members or beneficiaries of JES & Co.'s Mission and Purpose.
Job Assignments
Technical Interns are assigned to one or more specific JES & Co Programs and
are expected to meet each program's specifically defined Goals and
Responsibilities, which vary.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent general computer skills, especially including Microsoft Office
Professional and Outlook
Current enrollment in an advanced technical certification program (such as
Microsoft MCSE) with the networking and basic server operating system portions
completed.
