T3: Technology Training for Teachers |
The need for technology skills in today's educational institutions has never been greater or more critical. From the classroom to the administrative offices to the support staff and into the community, technical knowledge and ability empowers school districts. It is important not only for teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum, but for schools and school districts as a whole to embrace the opportunities technology can provide to stimulate a rich learning environment. |
Through its Technology Training for Teachers program (T3), JES & Co. continues to meet the challenge of marrying education's need for adopting technology with the Private Sector's desire to channel funds, programs and resources into the educational arena. Many of the nation's leading technology companies have entrusted JES & Co. to serve as facilitator and administrator in developing exciting new ways to merge corporate funds and programs into the classroom and school district in ways that are uniquely productive and useful. |
Microsoft Corporation, for example, tapped JES & Co. as one of the only non-institutional partners in its teacher.training@microsoft program. Microsoft viewed JES & Co.'s qualifications as exemplary and its stated mission compelling -- to create and provide environments that enable development of effective communication skills in K-16 youth through the use of emerging technologies. JES & Co. is able to expand on this opportunity beyond the original vision through creative partnering with other major technology companies. As a result, JES & Co. leverages its position and the value its partners bring to the table with the Arizona Department of Education's Regional Training Center program - an exciting experiment in the dissemination of training and technical resources throughout the state, and one that will serve as the model for national implementation. |
